Roda de Berà is a municipality in the province of Tarragona with a long history dating back to Roman times. It is not possible to pinpoint an exact date of its foundation, since its origin lies in a Roman settlement called Rodanum. This settlement was part of the Roman colony of Tarraco (present-day Tarragona) and is believed to have existed around the 1st century BC.
