Catalan Pairal House in Valls
Catalan manor house, built in 1889 by a wealthy Barcelona industrialist as a family summer home. In 1939, an Alsatian industrialist acquired it and rehabilitated it, respecting the standards and uses of Catalan country houses while introducing unmistakable French-style decorative details that can still be seen today in the different rooms of the house.
The house consists of 720 m2 divided into 12 rooms distributed over three floors, plus two side galleries with double-glazed enclosures, with possible use as an indoor dining room or recreational room, warehouse, garage and a cellar excavated in the rock. The three large bedrooms have access to a full suite-style bathroom while the medium ones have their own bathroom/toilet in the room.
The ground floor consists of a spacious hall dominated by a large glazed arched entrance door from which you can access a library decorated with neoclassical frescoes, the living-dining room, the kitchen, the office and other service rooms, a guest bedroom and access staircase to the upper floors.
On the second floor there is a double hall that overlooks the different bedrooms from which in turn you access the side galleries. On the third floor is what was once the service rest area.
On the right side of the access avenue to the house there is a short forest of cork oaks and holm oaks; and on the left, on the other hand, is the old orchard area and the horse stable. To the east of the property there is a pleasant eucalyptus walk that leads to a promontory of ancient stone pines. In the western exterior part of the house there is a rest area in the shade of a secluded forest of common pines and stone pines that are also centuries-old. Finally, at the back of the house are the garages, a traditional outdoor laundry room, and a clothesline area.
The entrance to the private area of Bosques de Valls where the property is located is 500 meters from the New highway that connects the national highway from Lérida to Tarragona. This new highway links the property with the hotel and tourist complexes of Salou, Cambrils, Port Aventura, Tarragona and the Reus Airport, all these locations a maximum of 30 min. The city of Barcelona and El Prat Airport are a maximum of 1 hour and 15 minutes away, by direct highway.
